GOLF OF ENGLAND
HOLE IN ONE COMPETITION — TERMS & CONDITIONS
Last updated: October 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern the Golf of England (“GOE”) Hole In One Competition (“Competition”). By entering the Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Promoter
The promoter is Golf of England (“GOE”).
Competition enquiries and entries should be directed to:
competitions@golfofengland.com
Website: www.golfofengland.com
2. The Competition
The GOE Hole In One Competition rewards golfers who achieve a genuine hole in one while wearing qualifying Golf of England apparel or accessories.
To qualify, the hole in one must be genuine, achieved during normal golf play and supported by satisfactory evidence in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
3. Eligibility
The Competition is open to individuals aged 18 years or over who are resident in the United Kingdom, unless otherwise stated in GOE promotional material.
Employees of Golf of England, members of their immediate family, GOE contractors directly involved in administering the Competition, and anyone professionally connected with the Competition are not eligible to enter.
Entrants must be wearing or visibly using at least one genuine Golf of England branded apparel or accessory product at the time the qualifying hole in one is achieved.
GOE may request proof that the product is genuine.
4. How to Enter
To enter, the entrant must:
-
Achieve a genuine hole in one during a legitimate round of golf.
-
Be wearing or visibly using qualifying Golf of England apparel or accessories when the hole in one occurs.
-
Obtain original video evidence relating to the hole in one.
-
Retain the original, unedited video file together with its original metadata where available.
-
Provide details of the golf course, hole number, date and approximate time of the hole in one.
-
Provide the name or names of any playing partners or witnesses where applicable.
-
Submit the required evidence to competitions@golfofengland.com together with the entrant's full name and contact details.
GOE may request additional evidence before validating an entry.
5. Video Evidence
Video evidence must be authentic and must relate directly to the claimed hole in one.
Where reasonably possible, evidence should show the golfer, the shot being played, the relevant hole and/or green, and the subsequent confirmation that the ball entered the hole.
Entries should be supported by original video files rather than re-recorded, screen-recorded or heavily compressed social-media copies wherever possible.
GOE may request the original file and associated metadata as part of its verification process.
Submitting edited footage does not automatically invalidate an entry, but GOE must be able to obtain sufficient original evidence to verify the claim.
6. Authenticity and AI Verification
All entries may be subject to authenticity checks.
GOE reserves the right to examine:
-
original file metadata;
-
recording dates and timestamps;
-
continuity within the footage;
-
signs of digital alteration;
-
AI-generated or AI-manipulated imagery or video;
-
inconsistencies between the submitted footage and supporting information;
-
witness information;
-
course records or other available evidence.
AI-generated, digitally fabricated, staged or materially manipulated hole-in-one evidence is strictly prohibited.
GOE may use appropriate digital forensic or AI-detection tools as part of its review process. Automated results will not necessarily be treated as conclusive on their own.
GOE may request additional evidence from an entrant before making a final decision.
7. Golf Course Requirements
The hole in one must take place on a recognised golf course during genuine golf play.
The shot must be played from the designated teeing area for the hole being played and must finish in the correct hole with a single stroke.
The hole must be played in accordance with the applicable Rules of Golf and any relevant local rules in effect at the course.
Shots taken solely for filming, repeated attempts from the same tee outside legitimate play, practice shots, staged shots, simulator shots and miniature golf do not qualify.
GOE may request confirmation from the relevant golf club or course.
8. Witnesses
GOE may request independent verification from another golfer, playing partner, golf club employee or other credible witness.
A witness must not knowingly submit false information.
GOE may contact witnesses or the relevant golf course for verification.
9. Entry Limit
Each individual qualifying hole in one may only be submitted once.
A participant may submit more than one entry where they achieve separate legitimate holes in one, unless promotional material for a particular Competition period states otherwise.
Duplicate submissions for the same shot will not create additional prize entitlement.
10. The Prize
Following successful verification, a qualifying entrant will receive:
One complimentary piece of Golf of England apparel or gear, selected by GOE, with standard delivery included.
The specific prize may vary depending on stock, sizing and availability.
GOE may select the product at its discretion and may provide the entrant with sizing options where appropriate.
The prize has no guaranteed resale value.
There is no cash alternative unless GOE expressly agrees otherwise.
Prizes are non-transferable unless GOE provides written permission.
11. Delivery
Standard delivery of the prize will be provided by GOE at no charge to the verified winner within the applicable delivery area.
The winner must provide complete and accurate delivery information.
GOE is not responsible for delivery failure caused by incorrect information supplied by the winner.
Where a prize is returned as undeliverable, GOE will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner.
12. Verification Before a Prize Is Awarded
Submitting an entry does not automatically mean that the entrant has won a prize.
A prize is awarded only after GOE has completed its verification process and confirmed the entry as valid.
GOE may reject an entry where there is insufficient evidence to establish, on reasonable grounds, that the hole in one occurred as claimed.
GOE's verification process is intended to protect genuine entrants and the integrity of the Competition.
13. Grounds for Disqualification
GOE may reject or disqualify an entry where it reasonably believes that:
-
the hole in one was staged or fabricated;
-
video or photographic evidence has been materially manipulated;
-
generative AI has been used to fabricate evidence;
-
false information has been supplied;
-
evidence has been deliberately withheld;
-
the submitted GOE product is counterfeit;
-
the entrant did not comply with the applicable Rules of Golf;
-
repeated attempts were made solely to manufacture a Competition entry;
-
another person's achievement has been submitted;
-
the entrant has attempted to manipulate the Competition or verification process;
-
the entry otherwise breaches these Terms and Conditions.
Fraudulent entries may be permanently excluded from current and future GOE promotions.
14. Fair Play
The Competition is intended to celebrate genuine golfing achievement.
Entrants must conduct themselves honestly and in the spirit of the game.
GOE reserves the right to investigate unusual, suspicious or inconsistent entries before issuing a prize.
15. Publicity
GOE may ask verified winners for permission to share their name, golf course, qualifying video, photographs or other Competition-related material on GOE's website, social media channels and promotional materials.
Where separate permission is legally required, GOE will request that permission before using such material for promotional purposes.
An entrant should not submit footage containing individuals who have not consented to the footage being provided to GOE where consent is required.
16. Intellectual Property and Submitted Content
Entrants retain ownership of their original video and photographic content.
By submitting an entry, the entrant grants GOE permission to review, copy and process the submitted content as reasonably necessary to administer and verify the Competition.
Any broader advertising or promotional use will be handled in accordance with any permissions or releases required by applicable law.
17. Personal Information
Personal information supplied in connection with the Competition will be processed for purposes including:
-
administering the Competition;
-
verifying entries;
-
contacting entrants;
-
delivering prizes;
-
preventing fraud and abuse;
-
meeting applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
Competition entry does not automatically constitute consent to receive unrelated marketing communications.
Where GOE wishes to send marketing communications requiring consent, that consent should be collected separately.
Personal information will be processed in accordance with GOE's applicable Privacy Policy and UK data protection law.
18. Availability and Stock
Prizes are subject to availability.
Where a particular product, colour or size is unavailable, GOE may substitute another product of reasonably comparable nature or value.
A winner does not have a contractual right to select any item from the entire GOE range unless GOE specifically offers that choice.
19. Changes or Cancellation
GOE reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the Competition where circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary.
GOE will not materially alter the Competition in a way that unfairly disadvantages entrants who have already entered unless reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention or operational reasons.
Where practicable, material changes will be communicated through GOE's website or relevant Competition channel.
20. Technical Problems
GOE is not responsible for entries that cannot be received because of internet failure, corrupted files, email delivery problems or other technical issues outside GOE's reasonable control.
Entrants are responsible for retaining their original evidence until their entry has been verified.
21. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
Subject to applicable law, GOE will not be responsible for losses arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
Participation in golf is undertaken at the participant's own risk and entrants remain responsible for following course rules, safety requirements and the Rules of Golf.
The Competition must never encourage a golfer to take an unsafe shot, enter a restricted area or interfere with other golfers.
22. Decisions
GOE will administer the Competition fairly and reasonably.
Where there is a dispute concerning whether an entry satisfies the published eligibility and verification requirements, GOE will assess the available evidence before reaching a decision.
Nothing in these Terms affects an entrant's statutory rights.
23. Applicable Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights an entrant may have under the laws applicable where they live.
The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to applicable consumer law.
24. Acceptance of These Terms
By submitting an entry, the entrant confirms that they:
-
have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions;
-
meet the eligibility requirements;
-
are submitting a genuine golfing achievement;
-
have provided truthful information;
-
understand that evidence may be checked for authenticity; and
-
understand that a prize will only be issued after successful verification.
